Seconds Count In An Emergency! Get notified!
Imminent flood? Chemical spill? Boil water notice? How will you be notified?
The County of Prince George has instituted the CodeRED® Emergency Notification System. It is a high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications. The system will allow the County to notify all or targeted areas of the county in an emergency situation that requires immediate action. Please note that this does not replace traditional methods of communicating to the public via the media.
The system is capable of dialing up to 60,000 households per hour. It will deliver a recorded message to a live person or answering machine/voicemail. It will make three attempts to connect to any number. Emergency messages from the CodeRED® system will display as 866-419-5000 on your caller id. This number can be called to hear the last message repeated.
It should be noted that although CodeRED® is an important tool for the County's use in the event of an emergency, there is, of course, no guarantee that notification will reach any particular resident upon activation.
Any questions regarding CodeRED® should be directed the Prince George Fire, EMS and Emergency Management Office at 804-722-8614.
To signup for CodeRED® click on the following link: https://public.coderedweb.com/CNE/72FB0DC877D5. The enrollment is secure and is for residents and businesses to add or update their contact information to ensure they are included when a message is sent. Unlisted numbers, mobile numbers, TDD/TTY requirements can be entered at the time of enrollment.
