New County Mapviewer

On July 11, 2016, the new county map viewer with 2016 aerial imagery was launched to the public.

The county migrated its map viewers to new, cross-platform applications. The previous county map viewers using Silverlight were retired. Silverlight has been deprecated and is no longer supported on several browsers. Geocortex, the application that is used to create and serve these maps, has created an HTML5 version that has most of the capabilities of the Silverlight version. The new map viewers will run on any device and will reconfigure themselves depending on the screen size of the device that you are using.

The new county map viewer can found here: or by going to the G IS Online Interactive Maps page:

A quick reference guide to the new interface can be downloaded by clicking here. For the most part, the new map viewer acts very much like the older versions; searching is the same. The main differences are the arrangement of the tools in the toolbox and where the base map menu is located. The tools operate very similarly to the tools in the old viewers as well.

With the release of this map viewer G IS also incorporated the Spectrometry aerial orthodontics collected in January and February 2016 with the viewer.

If you have any questions or need assistance with the new viewer, please do not hesitate to contact the G IS Group at (804)722-0702.
