 (Prince George, VA) – Arrest Made in Arson Investigation

On Sunday, June 30, 2019, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Prince George County Police received a 9-1-1 call-for-service regarding possible acts of arson in the area of Touchstone Bank, 4300 Crossings Boulevard.  Upon arrival, officers observed several fires actively burning around the exterior of the business.  Prince George County Fire personnel subsequently deployed around the business and extinguished the fires. 

As officers were investigating the fires in the area of Touchstone Bank, another fire related, call-for-service was received from the area of Baileys Ridge Apartments.  Prior to police and fire personnel’s arrival, residents of the apartment complex extinguished flames from a stairwell at 4800 Baileys Ridge Lane. 
 As a result of a joint investigation between the Prince George County Police Department and the  Dinwiddie County Sheriff’s Office, a suspect was developed.  On June 30th, these efforts led to the arrest of David Starke Jr., age 25, of Prince George County. 

In Prince George County, Starke stands charged with the following:
  • Maliciously burn an occupied dwelling house (felony).
  • Maliciously burn an unoccupied office building (felony).
Starke is being held at the Riverside Regional Jail without bond at this time.
