(Prince George, VA) – New Captain of Prince George Police Department
Lieutenant Mike Taber has been selected to be the Prince George County Police Department’s next Captain. Effective July 1, 2018, he will command the department’s Field Operations Division.
Lt. Taber joined the department in 1999. He has served as a Patrol Officer, Canine Handler, Sergeant, and Lieutenant. Taber is a United States Army veteran, and he has earned an Associate of Science degree from Central Texas College; a Bachelor of Science degree, Criminal Justice Administration, from Columbia Southern University; and he holds a Master of Science degree, Criminal Justice Administration, from Columbia Southern University.
"Lt. Taber has been an asset to the Department for 19 years. Through his work history, he has proven to be a leader of people; the men and women of our organization support and respect him. Mike is 100% committed to serving the community of Prince George County. His desire for our Police Department to be the very best, offering our citizenry the highest level of service, is second to none. Mike has an array of life experiences, job experience and education to draw from - we will be expecting a lot from him in his new role,” said Chief of Police Keith Early.
