Pay Taxes in Our Office
When you visit our office, you can pay your County taxes (or other fees) with cash, check, MasterCard, VISA , Discover or debit card showing the Visa or MasterCard logo. Office hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Drop Payments in Our Drop Boxes
There are two drop boxes for your convenience. One is a blue drive-up box located behind the Administration Building. It has a sign that says Prince George County Night Depository. The second one is located at the corner of the building near the entrance to the Treasurer's Office. Both are checked at 8:30 am daily. Citizens are encouraged to use these to drop off payments if it is not necessary for you to come inside for assistance. You may only pay with check if you use a drop box.
Pay Online Using the County's Bill Pay Portal
Citizens can use this secure portal to pay their utility bills online. The Treasurer's Office accepts MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. Debit cards displaying the MasterCard or Visa logo can also be used. Convenience fees are not charged.
Payments made using the Prince George County Online Bill Pay portal are NOT immediately reflected on your online account. All payments are posted the following day.
Notice for Utility Bills: If your service has been disconnected for non-pay, please telephone the Utilities Department immediately after using the Prince George County Online Bill Pay to report the payment and verify its receipt. The Utilities Office can be reached at (804) 722-8706 Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Please note that the help desk is part of the County's Information Technology Department. It is staffed from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding County Holidays. There is also a chat feature on the page that allows you to chat with the help desk during the same hours. If you have issues after hours, please email the help desk and your email will be answered the following business day.

To inquire about a refund, please contact the Prince George County Treasurer's Office at the number below. Utility Bills are not eligible for refunds. If you have an overpayment on a tax bill, please contact the Treasurer's Office. The amount overpaid may be refunded or applied to a different bill owed to the County. If a refund is granted, it would be issued via check payment mailed to you within 30 days of its receipt.
Pay Online or by Phone with Official Payments
The County also uses Official Payments to accept payments online. Official Payments does charge a fee for using their service. You can pay your Personal Property Tax, Real Estate Tax and Utilities bills with Official Payments. Official Payments accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard or VISA. Please note that PAYMENTS ARE NOT IMMEDIATELY REFLECTED ON YOUR BILL’S BALANCE.
OFFICIAL PAYMENTS SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR ACCOUNTS THAT HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED DUE TO NON-PAYMENT.
Online payments for Utilities Bills must be made 5 business days prior to the due date to avoid late fees and/or disconnection of service.
To use the online payment service:
- Go to www.officialpayments.com
- Select Make a Payment.
- Select the Local Payments option and enter the Jurisdiction code 1011 or select your State and choose it.
- Follow the onscreen instructions.
Note: Payments are made on a secure server. In order to use this service your web browser must have 128-bit Cipher Strength Encryption. If your browser cannot display the Official Payments pages properly it may need upgrading.
Pay by Phone
You can also pay your bills by phone with Official Payments. Pay by phone accepts payments for: Personal Property Tax, Real Estate Tax, Utilities bills, Business License Tax and Parking Tickets. Official Payments accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard or VISA. A fee is charged for using this service.
To pay by phone:
- Call 1-888-2PAY-TAX (1-888-272-9829). You will be prompted to input the information below using your touch-tone phone keypad.
- Enter the Jurisdiction Code: 1011.
- Choose your payment type:
- Press 1 to pay a Personal Property Tax bill.
- Press 2 to pay a Real Estate Tax bill.
- Press 3 to pay a Utilities bill.
- Press 4 to pay a Business License Tax bill.
- Press 5 to pay a Parking Ticket.
- Enter your payment information.
- Enter your credit card information.
The system will give you a verbal receipt number. There is a fee for using this service. Your bank should not charge cash advance fees for this payment.
All credit card payments for Utilities Bills must be made 5 business days prior to the due date to avoid late fees and/or disconnection of service.
