Business personal property and Machinery and tools are not prorated. However, motor vehicles utilized in a business are prorated.

Prince George County levies a tax on tangible personal property used in a trade (furniture, fixtures, machinery and tools) located in Prince George County on January 1. Personal property and equipment is depreciated using the date of acquisition and original purchase price as indicated below.

All businesses owning or leasing property housed in Prince George County are required to file a Return of Business Tangible Personal Property by February 5 of each tax year, and taxes are due on June 5.
