"Scraps from the Heart"

September 12

9 am – 12pm 

We will be making lap quilts, pillow cases, etc.  Items will be donated to different organizations.  Bring with you any scraps of material you may have. You don't even need to know how to quilt.  Just come and have a great time.

Ballroom Dancing

(5 weeks)

6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

In this introduction class, participants will learn the basic steps in East Coast Swing, Basic Foxtrot, and Waltz.  These basic steps will be enough to get you around any dance floor. Singles of couples are invited to join in!  The instructors will make this a memorable class, all they ask is that you come to the program eager to learn and wearing smooth soled shoes.

Youth Bowling

January 7-

Saturday Morning

Fee: $30 for ages 8-17

The Prince George Parks and Recreation Department will be taking registration for Youth Bowling from December 5- January 4 or until filled. Lessons will be held on Saturday mornings at Oaklawn Bowl, sessions are available for participants ages 8 through 17 for $30.  The fee includes shoe rental and three games a week. 

Basic DSLR Photo Course

(A)January 21

This one time four-hour course is designed for people who bought a Digital-Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera and who want to take better pictures.  Class is limited to 15 participants, the fee is $35 per participant, taught by David Breidenbach.

Basic Bird Photography Workshop

April 22
9am to Noon then 1pm to 3pm

This workshop will be taught by Ken Newman.  The class will meet at the Prince George Community Center, 11100 Old Stage Road, on April 22 from 9am to 11 am followed by on-site instruction and practice from Noon to 3pm at the James River National Wildlife Refuge in Prince George County [Permit-Only Access].  The fee is $45.00 per person (covering the classroom portion of the workshop).


Sports Photography Workshop

This workshop will be taught by David Breidenbach.  The class will meet at the Prince George Community Center, 11100 Old Stage road, on March 28 from 9am to Noon.  The fee is $35 per person.
