The Emergency Crew was established in 1969 by citizens who realized the need to provide emergency services to the community. Currently, volunteer emergency personnel supplement the Prince George Fire & EMS Department which responds to over 2500 Basic or Advance Life support calls per year, and also in support of each of the volunteer fire departments as required. The Emergency Crew is also supported by a number of associate/lifetime members. Career personnel are assigned to Station 8 seven days per week from 9am-9pm, also known as the "peak shift". Additionally, career personnel respond to fire calls for service. Apparatus assigned to Station 8 include Medics 8-1, 8-2, and 8-6, Responder 8, EMS 8, and Engine 8. Regular business meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. In addition in-house training is held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Emergency Crew building.
