Harvest Festival: The Prince George Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring its 11th annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 21st at Temple Park, 14307 Prince George Drive from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This event, for County youth up to 13 years old, will feature games, a hayrack ride, haunted forest, exhibits, blow up moon walk, slide and obstacle course, gaming trailer, petting zoo, try your luck at winning a cake, cupcakes, or candy and fun!!! Wear your costume! The concession stand will be open for the purchase of food and drinks (all proceeds go to the WCPGC). For a minimal charge you can even make your own scarecrow (all proceeds go to the Prince George Animal Shelter). Come out and help us celebrate our 10th annual Harvest Festival! Registration fee for gym membership is $5 per month and/or $50 a year and the card can be used at EITHER the Central Wellness Center or Prince George Community 

Center locations. The two Exercise rooms are open to Prince George County residents ages 13– and up. Participants 13-15 must be accompanied by a registered adult.

The Wellness Center Fitness Room will initially be open Monday – Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Open to Prince George County residents only.

Youth Wrestling:  Wrestling is for county residents ages 4-14 (must be 4 years of age and cannot of turned 15 years of age on or after October 1, 2017. A birth certificate is required at the time of registration. The season will begin in November and go through February. Registration will be held September 5 – November 30. Adult Mixed Volleyball:  The Prince George Recreation Department is taking registration for Adult Mixed Volleyball Teams September 11- October 6. Registration is for teams only, players must be at least 16 years of age, live or work in Prince George County, no more than 18 players per team. A $50 fee will be due by Oct. 6 for each team registered. The number of games will be determined by the number of teams registered. The league will start around the first of November and run through the end of January.

Zumba:  Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International music – dance themes creating a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness workout. The routine features aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. It is based on the principal that a workout should be “FUN AND EASY TO DO”. Classes will be held Monday’s beginning October 23, 6:30- 7:15pm for 5 weeks at the PGCWC. YOGA - Monday (Beginners):  Yoga involves stretching and creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. Classes will be held on Monday’s beginning October 23, 7:15 – 8:00pm for 5 weeks at the PGCWC - bring a mat with you. Registration will begin October 2 – until full, cost is $25 per participant. Basic Abs and Fitness: This class will include basic fitness combinations including jumping jacks, lunges and sit-ups. Muscle conditioning is a complete dynamic full body workout for all fitness levels that delivers strength, balance, flexibility, endurance and core stability to tone, lengthen and define your muscles. This class incorporates all this using only your own body resistance to burn calories and get the results you desire. Classes will be held on Tuesday’s beginning October 17, 6:30 - 7:15pm for 5 weeks (NO CLASS November 7 – Election Day) at the Prince George Community Center. Country Heat Live:  Turn It Up To Burn It Off! Step right into this easy to follow, exhilarating, country dance inspired workout! No complicated moves! Just simply follow along to enjoy the low impact, high energy dance class set to the hottest country hits! You’ll have so much fun moving, stepping, clapping, stomping and laughing that you’ll forget your burning mega calories and toning your body from head to toe. You’ll have a BLAST in Country Heat Live! Classes will be held on Thursday’s beginning October 19, 6:30 – 7:30pm for 5 weeks at the Prince George Community Center. Youth Basketball: Basketball is for county residents ages 7-15. A birth certificate if required at the time of registration. Co-Ed league for ages 7-8, Pee Wee Boys and Girls for ages 9-10, Junior Boys and Girls for ages 11-12 and Senior Boys and Girls for ages 13-15. Online registration will start Monday, October 9 – November 3.(Online registration only on Monday October 9, the office will be closed this day). www.princegeorgeva.org/onlineregistration. Registration at the Parks and Recreation office will begin on Tuesday October 10 – November 3, and Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 9am-12pm. The fee is $30 for one child, $50 for two children and $70 for three children.

Charles Town Trip:  “Let’s go to Charles Town Races and Slots in West Virginia” play the slots and the tables at the new Hollywood Casino. The trip will be on Saturday, October 28. The bus will depart Scott Park at 7am and return that same evening around 11pm. The bus will depart the casino promptly at 6:30pm, there will be a short stop on the way up there and one on the way back. The fee for the trip is $45 per participant, and bring your own slot money. Zumba “Fight Breast Cancer”: The Prince George County Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring ZUMBA “Fight Breast Cancer” will be held on October 14th at the Prince George Community Center from 9:30AM- 11:30AM taught by Certified Zumba Instructor Valerie Nichols. The cost at the door will be $5.00 with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

KINGS DOMINION TICKETS:  Prince George Parks and Recreation is currently selling Kings Dominion Any Day Tickets for $40. Any Day Tickets are valid for any regular operating day of the 2017 season for ages 3 and up. Tickets are sold in the Parks and Recreation office at 11100 Old Stage Road, Prince George VA 23875, cash or check only.
