Michael Purvis Named
Director of General Services

Prince George County Administrator Percy Ashcraft has announced that Michael J. Purvis has been hired as Director of General Services.

Purvis, 57, will replace George Poulson, who will retire October 1. Purvis will begin his responsibilities September 18.

Purvis was selected from an applicant pool of 42. He joins Prince George County following a successful career in the private sector that included stints with BH Management Services, LLC; Weinstein Properties; and Quality Inspection Inc.

“We are very pleased that Mike has agreed to join our government family,” commented Ashcraft. “His private sector experience will be valuable in handling a number of different tasks simultaneously.”

Purvis will oversee a department that includes 11 employees in the General Properties and Vehicle Fleet divisions.

Purvis lives on Centennial Road in Disputanta.
