Prince George police said Jules Moultrie Jr. III was taken into custody without incident Tuesday and was charged with first-degree murder in Bond's death. Moultrie is being held at Riverside Regional Jail without bond.
Police responded to the shooting at 4 p.m. Arriving officers found Bond in the travel center’s entranceway, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
According to the preliminary investigation, two female employees — Tatiyana Wright of Petersburg and Norma Glover — left the area at the same time as the shooting suspect.
The shooter fled in a car with the two women, including one of the employees involved in the earlier altercation, Grochmal said. The women willingly left with the man, she added.
Police said they aren’t sure if Bond was involved in the earlier incident but said he had been involved with one of the women in the altercation.
Police were still looking for the shooter and the two women Monday night. Anyone with information is asked to call Prince George police at (804) 733-2773 or Crime Solvers at (804) 733-2777.
