Prince George Central Wellness Center - Thanks to a grant from the John Randolph Foundation, and support from the County Board of Supervisors, and County Administration, Prince George Parks and Recreation will be opening its second Fitness Facility to assist citizens of Prince George County in their quest for a healthy lifestyle.
The newest facility, located at the Prince George Central Wellness Center, 11023 Prince George Drive, will open Monday, May 15th at 5 p.m. The Fitness Room features ellipticals, treadmills, stationery bikes, strength training machines, and limited free weights. Fitness Room participants should enter through the front of the building.
Registration fee is $5 per month and/or $50 a year and the card can be used at either the Prince George Community Center or Central Wellness Center locations. The two Exercise rooms are open to Prince George County residents ages 13– and up. Participants 13-15 must be accompanied by an adult.
The Wellness Center Fitness Room will initially be open Monday – Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. See you there!
CHARLESTOWN – The Prince George Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring “Let’s Go to Charles Town Races and Slots” in West Virginia and play the slots and tables at The New Hollywood Casino. Leave Scott Memorial Park at 7:00 AM on June 3rd, and return approximately 11:00 PM the same day. Arrive in Charles Town West Virginia at 11:00 AM and play the slots for approximately 7 hours. The bus will then depart from the Casino promptly at 6:30 PM. There will be a short stop on the way up there and also when we return. BASIC DSLR Photo Course – Prince George Parks and Recreation Department is offering a “Digital-Single Lens Reflex,” (DSLR) course taught by David Breidenbach. This three hour course is designed for people who own a DSLR camera and want to take better pictures. The class will be held at the Prince George Community Center, 11100 Old Stage Road on Saturday, August 12th from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

TODDLER FUN AND FITNESS – Prince George Parks and Recreation is offering a new program for pre-school children ages two through four. The class will keep your child energized with a mixture of clapping, moving, tumbling, balance, climbing, catching, throwing, and hopping. Toddler Fun and Fitness will be held on Thursday nights or Friday mornings, from October 5th or 6th for 6 weeks at the Prince George Community Center. The Thursday night class will be held from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM and the Friday morning class will be from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. The class cost is $50 per child with multi-child discounts. KINGS DOMINION TICKETS – Prince George Parks and Recreation is currently selling Kings Dominion Any Day Tickets for $40 and Spring Savings Day tickets for $38. Any Day Tickets are valid for any regular operating day of the 2017 season for ages 3 and up, while the Spring Savings Days tickets are valid March 25 thru May 21 for ages 3 and up. Tickets are sold in the Parks and Recreation office at 11100 Old Stage Road, Prince George VA 23875, cash or check only.
KARATE – Prince George Parks and Recreation Department is offering Karate lessons held at William A. Walton Elementary Gymnasium. This is an 8 week course starting on April 27th, and runs every Tuesday and Thursday, beginners/white belt below at 5:30 PM orange belt and above at 6:30 PM. The cost is $60.00 per participant, there is a discount for family members, $50.00 for the second family member, $40.00 for the third. Registration will be April 3 – April 21 online at princegeorgeva.org or at the Prince George Parks and Recreation office. Class is for those ages 8 to adult and limited to 25 participants, adults welcome.
