Issues permits and conducts inspections for all new construction, alterations, repairs, removal, demolition or other building operations. Reviews building plans to confirm compliance with Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code 2009 Edition. Inspects structures at critical points during construction.
	Provides professional planning leadership, evaluates zoning amendments, reviews site plans, enforces County land use ordinances, facilitates update to and the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan. Assists with questions regarding new development, subdivision of land, rezonings, appeals and variances.
	Performs plan review and inspection to ensure project compliance with federal, state and local laws pertaining to erosion and sediment control, stormwater management and the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act.
	Investigates complaints and performs inspections to ensure compliance with the Virginia Maintenance Code and the Code of the County of Prince George related to property maintenance, tall grass and discarded materials.
