VDOT to Install Guardrail
Along Courthouse Road
VDOT officials notified Prince George County Administration Monday night of its intent to place guardrail along Courthouse Road.
VDOT Residency Administrator Bob Zimmerman informed County Administrator Percy Ashcraft guardrail will be installed and could happen within a 2-4 week span, weather permitting.
The subject of guardrails became an issue following a fatal accident that killed 17-year old Marvin Massenburg, Jr., a Prince George High School student, on September 25.
“We are extremely appreciative of VDOT’s quick reaction to remedying this issue,” commented Ashcraft. “VDOT is an important partner in providing a high quality of life for our citizens and they are always quick to handle issues whenever it is feasible.”
Zimmerman has also asked Prince George Police officials to let his agency know of other areas in the County that might be considered unsafe because of a lack of guardrail or other road conditions.
