Police credit excellent witness statements and officer’s quick response in the apprehension of a bank robber.

Yesterday morning at approximately 9:12 AM a black female entered the Bank of Southside Virginia on Courthouse Rd and handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspect portrayed as she had a weapon but was discovered to be a remote control covered with a bandanna. The suspect fled the bank in a tan colored vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money.

Within moments of the robbery, officer’s relayed pertinent information provided by witnesses that lead to the arrest of 47 year old Shelia Allen of Prince George. Allen was charged with armed robbery and is being held at Riverside Regional Jail with no bond pending an arraignment scheduled for Friday.
