Stephen A. (Andy) Aigner will begin employment with Prince George County on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 as Director of Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Mr. Aigner has over twenty years of experience in public safety at the county government level. "Andy Aigner will bring an abundance of experience and hands-on leadership to the Prince George County Fire and EMS team," said John G. Kines, County Administrator.
Andy Aigner was a member of the County of Hanover Fire and EMS Department from January, 1990 until September of 2007. He rose from a volunteer cadet/firefighter to the rank of Battalion Chief before leaving Hanover in 2007. In September of 2007 he joined the County of Isle of Wight as Fire and EMS Coordinator. He has served in that position until his employment with Prince George County this month.
He is certified in all aspects of firefighting training and prevention as well as emergency medical services. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management. "Aigner comes to Prince George highly recommended and respected by his peers in the public safety field," said Kines. "Aigner will offer a wealth of knowledge and new approaches for the excellent, veteran volunteer Prince George companies and full-time staff members," said Kines.
